Welcome to the web site for the Technology Advancement Committee for the College of Agriculture. This committee is charged with the advising
the College of Agriculture Administration on important technology issues and providing significant input into the use of student
computer fees. Involvement in the expenditure of student computer
fees occurs in three ways.
- Solicit proposals and provide recommendations to the dean on the
expenditure of student computer fees held by the College of Agriculture.
($40,000 of the student computer fees that are paid by students in the college
are handled in this manner.)
- Review departmental use of student computer fees. (About 60% of the student computer fees that
are paid by students in the college are allocated directly to departments
after the $40,000 is held for the proposal process identified in 1 above.)
- Provide input through one student and one faculty representative on the
university Computation Advisory
Committee, CAC. CAC allocates student
computer fees to the Computation Center, Library and an
annual call for proposals. (About 1/2 of the student computer fees that are paid by students in the college
are held for distribution by CAC.)
Like all committees dealing with the student computer fees, the Technology Advancement Committee
is composed of half students and half faculty so that
students are actively involved in decisions concerning the use of student computer
fees.
