• Know what diseases a horse should be vaccinated for and how often.
• Know information about EVA and VS
• Understand parasites and deworming programs
• Understand risk assessment
• Know information about colic, ulcers, foal diarrhea, rhodococcus, respiratory allergies and muscle diseases

Nutrition

• Know the digestive physiology of the equine tract
• Know the classes of horses to determine rations – for this exam everything but not performance horses
• Know which nutrients will increase for the different classes of horses compared to the maintenance horse
• Understand how to calculate feed consumption
• Understand how to calculate the cost of feeding a horse
• Read through the feed power point and know the types of feed, nutrients and information about pastures
• Know feeding management recommendation
• Know how to evaluate a commercial feed
